1988:
another «
sea-epic », that of
the MAYFLOWER. We know the names,
as well as the age, of the 102 Pilgrim
Fathers, and we are familiar with their
social and family background; on the
other hand, only two portraits of them
have come down to us.
Pierre Bataille has
succeeded in
giving an individual face to the other
Pilgrim Fathers thanks to information
provided by Americans historians.
The Pilgrims are presented on a long« travelling panorama » on a Plymouth
quay, with bag and baggage on the
morning of embarkation. |
